Guilty, I Plead
My imperfections lay at my feet
Guilty beyond comprehension
The law’s rebuke is deafening
Is there hope of mitigation?
On my own I would fail the test
Righteousness is beyond my best
Guilty, I plead
God’s grace, I need
I’ve died with Christ, now freed from sin
Sharing in his resurrection
The Spirit of God now lives within
And I am a new creation
On my own I would fail the test
Righteousness is beyond my best
Guilty, I plead
God’s grace, I need
Praise God, he’s the forgiving kind
Praise God, we can leave it all behind
